A fynbos-loving collective comes to life online: Meet the CFRP
WEB DEVELOPMENT, WORDPRESS, NATURE | OCTOBER, 2025
Working to protect fynbos? That’s amazing.
Working with a partnership of 45 organisations and companies, all dedicated to safeguarding the Cape Floral Kingdom? Now that’s next-level!
So, when LoveGreen Communications was invited to help create a brand-new website for the revamped Cape Floral Kingdom Partnership (CFRP), it felt like a perfect match.
Meeting up with old friends
The CFRP isn’t new to us. LoveGreen has worked with its predecessor, the Cape Action for People and the Environment (CAPE). CAPE operated under the mandate of the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI), which meant it never needed its own platform… until now.
Over several months, CAPE partners workshopped the future of the organisation. The outcome? The new-look CAPE – now the CFRP – needed a website that truly represented its partners and showcased the latest Cape Floral Kingdom news, events and resources. This meant an interactive, dynamic platform for an active network of conservationists and fynbos lovers.
Driving this transformation were two conservation stalwarts: Giselle Murison of BirdLife South Africa and Sarah Hulley of Conservation Outcomes. They, along with guidance from the CFRP committee, provided the vision and brief to bring the partnership to life online.
Dodging the traditional
The CFRP logo (a collaborative design between Burgeon & Co, Stellenbosch Design Academy and one of the Committee members) captures the essence of the partnership protecting this floral kingdom. Choosing a range of soft blues rather than the traditional green gave the site flexibility and freshness.
LoveGreen web designer Tina Vlok enjoyed working with these colours and symbols. “The blue works beautifully with the greens of fynbos, but there are also alternate versions, like a red logo that pairs with species such as Lobostemon sanguineus and Mimetes cucullatus. This gave us exciting creative freedom on the site.”
Content development was guided by Sarah, Giselle, and an experienced committee, currently led by Chair Lesley Richardson. LoveGreen content creator Heather D’Alton focused on capturing not only the ecological importance of the Cape Floral Kingdom, but also the connections between humans and this unique plant kingdom.
A living online space
The website also serves as a resource for partners, featuring a Knowledge Hub with themed resources – a living page that grows as new information becomes available. An Upcoming Events section keeps everyone in the loop about fynbos-related courses, training and community events. LoveGreen also supplied a range of macro fynbos photography to supplement the in-action photos from the CFRP team.
The partnership is growing fast, with 45 members already signed up and more joining all the time. Any organisation, company, or individual working to protect the Cape Floral Kingdom is invited to join –
here’s how. As LoveGreen we’re also happy to have joined recently as CFRP members.
For the LoveGreen team, working alongside Conservation Outcomes, BirdLife South Africa, the Table Mountain Fund (who funded the work) and all the CFRP partners has been an honour. With the digital platforms in place, the foundation is set for a strong, growing collective working together to protect and celebrate the Cape Floral Kingdom.

Heather is our content writer. She enjoys helping our clients formulate their message and loves to run her way across beautiful mountains, to explore new places and is always ready for an adventure.

A hike is so much more than a get-fit-in-nature experience. For the LoveGreen team, a hike fills the soul – creating an opportunity to connect with old, and meet new friends, in a nature-filled setting. And that’s just what the Fynbos Trail provided us.
LoveGreen is more than the name of our team.
